Beethoven X – The AI Project

What happens to genius when a machine can finish the sentence? Beethoven left forty sketches for a Tenth Symphony and two centuries of silence. We brought together musicologists, technologists and an AI trained on his hand to complete it — and filmed the human questions that followed. It premiered in Bonn and at the Elbphilharmonie and was carried from NPR to the BBC. For me it is the clearest statement of everything my work is about: culture and technology, in the same frame.
